Overview
The Varonis for Collibra integration enriches the Collibra Platform with real-time data security context from Varonis, automatically feeding sensitivity classifications, access permissions, and exposure risk scores directly into Collibra’s platform. Joint customers gain a continuously updated view of where sensitive data lives and how exposed it is, mapped directly to the assets they’ve already registered in Collibra. This means a data steward reviewing a dataset or product in Collibra sees not only its business definition and lineage, but also whether it contains sensitive information, who currently has access to it, and how significant its exposure risk is — all within the same governance workflow they already use.
An integration between the two let joint customers close the gap between “data we’ve documented” and “data we’ve secured”. By surfacing this security context natively in Collibra, the integration helps governance, risk, and compliance teams make better-informed stewardship decisions without needing to consult a separate security console. Data classification and access risk become first-class attributes of the catalog itself, strengthening audit trails, supporting more accurate data protection impact assessments, and giving organizations a clearer, more trustworthy picture of their sensitive data landscape. For customers managing regulatory obligations such as GDPR, CCPA, or DORA, this creates a stronger foundation of evidence linking documented governance policy to the actual, current state of data exposure and access — reducing manual reconciliation work and increasing confidence in compliance reporting.
