SAP BusinessObjects to Collibra Integration
Overview
SAP BusinessObjects (SAP BO) is an enterprise software specialized in reporting and analytical business intelligence. The platform comprises a variety of reporting applications that help the users find data, store, create and share reports, and perform analysis.
This integration is designed to help you retrieve, map, and ingest metadata from a SAP BusinessObjects instance into the Collibra Platform. To make this possible, the SAP BO folders, documents, reports, report elements, data providers, universes, along with each universe’s folders and items (i.e., dimensions, dimension attributes, measures, and filters) are retrieved from SAP BO and transformed into Collibra assets with relations.
Use Cases
With this integration, you can:
- move away from intermediary tools for harvesting lineage from SAP BO
- enjoy the freedom of ingesting metadata and lineage from SAP BO directly into your Collibra instance.
Elements in Scope
The SAP BO integration is designed to retrieve metadata for Universes and Documents. Specifically, it retrieves the following elements:
- Folders
- Universes
- Measures
- Filters
- Dimension
- Dimension Attributes
- Documents
- Reports
- Report Elements
- Data Providers
- SQL queries which are used by Collibra’s Lineage Server to retrieve Technical Lineage
The asset upsert operation is performed against a given Collibra Platform instance, with the name, description, and other fields mapped over to standard fields in Collibra.
