Microsoft Power BI Report Server (PBRS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) metadata and lineage
Overview
Power BI Report Server (PBRS) or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is an on premises business intelligence software that helps you see and understand your data. The PBRS and SSRS integration in Collibra is a harvester integration that consists of:
- Metadata ingestion in Data Catalog
- Automatic stitching
- Technical lineage
- Business summary lineage
PBRS and SSRS use the same APIs the export metadata. As such, all assets are ingested in Catalog as SSRS assets with the addition of Power BI reports in case of PBRS.
Important info: While SSRS and PBRS use the same API, we can access less information from PBRS reports than from SSRS data. As a result, we do not support stitching and lineage information for PBRS reports.
