JDBC Driver for Teradata
Overview
The Teradata JDBC driver can be used in the Collibra Catalog in the section ‘Collibra provided drivers’ to register Teradata sources. Leveraging this driver, Collibra Catalog will be able to register database information and extract the structure of the source into its schemas, tables and columns.
In order to connect to Teradata, extra JAR files need to be installed, in addition to the JDBC Driver downloaded from this Collibra Marketplace page:
Please also download the Teradata JDBC Driver from the Teradata website (here). In Catalog, as a result, please upload the following JAR files:
- teradata-xxxx.jar (downloaded from Collibra Marketplace)
- terajdbc4.jar (downloaded from the Teradata website)
- tdgssconfig.jar (from JDBC Driver version 16.20.00.11 onwards, this jar file is no longer part of the Teradata JDBC Driver, and your classpath should not include it)
Collibra JDBC drivers can retrieve the following technical metadata from the source:
- Schemas
- Tables
- Views
- Columns
- Primary keys
- Foreign keys
