Starburst Enterprise is a fully supported, production-tested and enterprise-grade distribution of open source Trino (formerly Presto® SQL). It improves performance and security while making it easy to deploy, connect, and manage your Trino environment.  Through connecting to any source of data – whether it’s located on-premise, in the cloud, or across a hybrid cloud environment – Starburst lets your team use the analytics tools they already know & love while accessing data that lives anywhere.  For more information on what Starburst Enterprise is and the use cases it solves, please refer to Starburst’s partner profile page in the Collibra Marketplace.

Since Starburst is based on open source Trino, the JDBC driver you will be using is the Trino JDBC driver.  It can be used in the Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud (DIC) in the section ‘Collibra provided drivers’ to register Starburst Galaxy, Starburst Enterprise and Trino clusters as data sources in Collibra.  Leveraging this driver, Collibra DIC will be able to register database information and extract the structure of the source into its schemas, tables and columns.

This driver can retrieve the following technical metadata from the source:

  • Schemas
  • Tables
  • Views
  • Columns
  • Primary Keys
  • Foreign Keys

In addition to the items above, this driver also supports retrieving data samples and loading them into Collibra DIC.

This listing will be periodically updated with the latest Trino driver.  If you would like to use a different version of the Trino driver, please refer to Starburt’s JDBC driver documentation to obtain the desired version.
