Hackolade Studio is a downloadable client running under Windows, Mac, and Linux.  The software is user-friendly and simple-to-use, yet provides powerful visuals and graphic schema design to smooth the onboarding of NoSQL technology in enterprise IT landscapes. Its features help functional analysts, designers, architects, and DBAs achieve greater transparency and governance, resulting in reduced development time, increased application quality, and lower execution risks across the enterprise.

What business problem does it solve?

Polyglot data modeling, i.e. data modeling and schema design for polyglot persistence and transmission protocols.

What is the license model?

You may choose a traditional perpetual license with annual maintenance, or a subscription.  You also have the choice of individual workstation or concurrent (floating) licenses.

What is involved in implementing the product?

The Collibra Data Dictionary integration is part of the standard software product, but requires the purchase of a special license key option in order to load your data models into Collibra.

How does the integration of Hackolade and Collibra work?

The application uses Collibra’s Core, Import, and Synchronization APIs so users can easily load their Hackolade data models for any of the many technology targets supported by Hackolade.

The process automatically:

  • checks the configuration in Collibra
  • creates the necessary custom scopes, attributeTypes and assignments to support the granularity of Hackolade features
  • creates and keeps in sync assets for schemas, tables, views, columns, and foreign key relationships.

The integration specifically handles complex data types, hierarchical structures, and polymorphism found in modern databases, JSON, Avro, Parquet, ProtoBuf, etc..
